Catastrophic Bleed Control / Stop the Bleed

Stop the Bleed is the American College of Surgeons' public bleeding-control programme. It teaches the three actions that save a life from severe haemorrhage - direct pressure, wound packing and tourniquet application - to people with no medical background.

It is deliberately short and hands-on. Everyone leaves having actually packed a wound and applied a tourniquet under time pressure. It is ideal for a whole workforce, a school, a security team or a community group.
