About this course
FREC Level 4 is the next rung up from FREC 3 - an RQF Level 4 qualification for responders who already hold Level 3 and work in remote, austere, maritime or high-threat environments where definitive care is hours away rather than minutes.
It extends both clinical scope and expectation: you move from first responder to the senior clinician on scene, making assessment and treatment decisions with limited resources and holding a casualty over a prolonged period before evacuation.
If you do not yet hold FREC 3, start there. If a contract specifies Level 4 cover or you routinely operate where the ambulance is not coming, this is the course.
